I've been commuting six years on hybrids, and I've never had a close left hook. It happened twice on my wayhome today though, on my first commute on my shiny new 105 synapse disc.
First at traffic lights up a reasonable hill, I had to slam on my brakes as a car simply cut me right off, and the second at a T, where a Taxi overtook last Moment and turned left across me.
This obviously isn't reliable data. I was probably cycling slightly differently. They were both up a slope, perhaps I was going faster. It was my short 3.5 mile commute so I was only wearing jeans and shirt, so didn't look different.
Is this just an odd coincidence, or is this a thing riding a road bike?
