Well the title says it all this afternoon was my first time on the a velodrome and on a track bike although i crashed the bike when coming to stop near the fence but got really used to it. Also managed to ride up the top of the banks.

Well done, I can't quite get my head around fixed wheel and no brakes!
I would like to give it a try though.

Oooof! That's going to be interesting when the northerlies get blowing. Maybe you'll need to erect a tent over it? Nice facility though, I bet that tarmac job was a bit of a challenge for the boys from the black stuff. How smooth is it?

One thing I never did, much to my regret, was ride the track. No fears of fixed wheel though as I rode one many a time.

At our local cycling track there have been beginners' training sessions for women, which have been fun and surprisingly competitive. Most participants had never ridden a track bike before. Not a single woman has fallen off or crashed. Just saying.
I'm sorry, are you suggesting because he fell of his bike that he's not as good as a woman?

Not necessarily. I just notice that certain men hereabouts seem to regard crashing and falling off as some strange kind of bragging rights, and I haven't noticed the same from any women, which I find mildly interesting. I prefer not to fall off if I can help it, but hey, that's just me.
I also prefer not to mock people who fall off, but hey, that's just me.

Not even me! I'm actually very proud of this!
Tbh, when I read the op, I did think "ehehehe, experienced young cyclist crashed, I didn't"
Mind, another couple of times, @jamma will be flying up the levels, while me I don't think I went over the third level.
Still, I never crashed
