Yeah right.
I've seen it happen. Why wouldn't it?
Yeah right.
First time I rode track was a big tarmac track (Herne Hill). a very exciting moment. Starting on a wooden velodrome must be very special indeed.
I miss the track. Having done my last track race in 1984 I get very excited watching today's track sport thinking wouldn't it have been great if we had all these indoor velodromes back then. People I used to race and train with are still riding as masters and still getting the thrill.
I'm the one near the fence in this pic

I quite fancy giving the track a go, but given my personal propensity for calamity, I'm not so sure!

Unfortunately no. I'm on a Raleigh in that picture and when I left Europa it went back to them. I then had a lovely post box red Colnago with chrome fork ends and crown and yellow clover leaf cutouts (that was 'donated' by John from Henry Burton and had had their decals, it was also handed back when I finished racing) - wish I still had that one nowHave you still got your track bike? I see the next bike along is a Carlton, presumably in team silver lustre?
Blimey. I wish I had kept my Falcon Skol Six track frame...

The last time I went to a track I fell off trying to avoid a girl that had fallen off in front of me (hi @ttcycle ). It was curiously enough the last time I banged my head coming off a bike and the last time I wore a helmet. Go figure. Not necessarily. I just notice that certain men hereabouts seem to regard crashing and falling off as some strange kind of bragging rights, and I haven't noticed the same from any women, which I find mildly interesting. I prefer not to fall off if I can help it, but hey, that's just me.

My wife and I have tickets to the London Six Day thingy. I've never been inside a velodrome before.
I think that's probably the closest I'll get to riding on one!
I'm not expecting to understand a whole lot of what's going on. It's difficult enough on TV, with carefully selected shots to direct your attention and Chris Boardman patiently explaining the ins and outs of it.I went down to London in March for one of the evening sessions at the Worlds. Had a great time.
Madison racing such a great thing to watch (and ride).

I've just registered and am about to book a beginner's sessionThere is a new outdoor Tarmac velodrome at York sport village, I've ridden the flat Tarmac track there but quite fancy a go on the banked velo.
