Hi marcg868,

There are plenty of options already suggested above.

If you want another option to consider for a flat bar bike you could look at the Cotic Roadrat:-

Good luck finding the right bike for you!

SWMBO is considering a new bike. & this looks a very good deal, but not sure she would spend, or appreciate me spending £600

It's got drop bars........you stated you don't like drop bars
Wouldn't say I didn't like them. I was a bit vague really. Basically I have had a Triban 300 in the past, great budget bike, Just felt wobbly on it, wasn't keen on the rim brakes.
Also had a Merida Cyclocross 300. This I was more confident on, even took it round Gisburn forest on the blue trails, however it was too big for me in the end. Hardly any seatpost showing. It was 56 CM and I'm 5ft 10.
I'm more a size 54 or Medium.

I'm aiming more towards drop bars Now after having a look at some.
It's either a cheap and cheerful Voodoo Limbs or this https://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-malt-g-tiagra-gravel-bike-2019-114706.html

Just a question. If it is quiet rides and to go to the local public house why wouldn't you build one using solid old steel like 531 or even 653. There's plenty out there. I am currently building a single speed flat bar on a 531 frame. Should be light and smooth when finished. Probably a lot cheaper than buying a new bike.
