Help !!
Hope somebody can help I've just recently bought a giant defy 2 , and had my first ride today only 17 miles but I noticed my back tyre looking flat and on up hill when I was standing my front looked flat I, only have a mini pump and stopped twice to inflate, I'm roughly15stone so is this normal or do I need to invest in a good pump
Thanks

Get a track pump with a gauge. Check the max PSI on tyre wall before using gauge. Did it look and feel flat when squeezed? Tyres always look flatter when there is weight on them

You definitely need a track pump with a gauge.

Getting your tyres up to the correct pressures with a mini-pump is a time-consuming pain in the aris.

Track pump, or car foot pump if you have car type valves on your bike. If the maximum on the tyre sidewall says 120psi go to 120psi and try it. If it's a bit juddery on tar and chip roads let them down a bit, but never ride below the minimum prssure.

Get a Topeak JoeBlow. Do not buy a cheap mountain bike pump with a fat barrel; you will need muscles like a gorilla to achieve even 100. Get the skinniest barrel possible.
Thanks for that , I have just been looking at them on halfords website , currently on offer

I've got a Joe Blow max, can''t get above 80, now either I am utterly feeble or the gauge / pump is faulty...tyres feel pretty darn hard and look inflated

How about deflating it then blowing it up with a CO2 cartridge? Lazy I know, but worth a couple of ££ if you don't have a decent hand pump..

silca pista or a lezyne track pumps are the best on the market ...
you can trust what the gauge says ... easy to use ... pay once and keep it for life !!!
Joe blow are rubbish save your money and invest ... As vickster says the gauges dont work/not to be trusted ...
