have noticed that lots of good cyclists have a physique between the neck and the lower abdomen that is completely flat.... if that makes sense. I have noticeable pectoral muscles.

Is that 'look' a consequence of cycling? I.e. is it something you can attain?

Stop going to the gym...or lose moob weight? Or get a more supportive sports bra
Are you talking about pros, they have less upper body musculature and almost no body fat it seems, no?

You want to lose your pecs? OK, I guess. Follow @vickster advice. Use it or lose it. You don't need much "push" strength in the arms to cycle (some, but not a lot) so if you don't bench or press up or similar, I imagine the muscle will atrophy.

(If you have a life partner, check how he or she feels about your current appearance. Might be worth keeping it for them. If you don't but want to, I'd say keep the pecs, they will be an asset while dating)

I suspect many members here took up serious cycling long after their body had formed it's own shape, so no, cycling probably hasn't influenced their lack of prominent pecs.

I think they train so intensively that their metabolism actually consumes muscle in the chest and shoulders in favour of the big muscles of the bum and legs. That scrawny upper body is what distinguishes a pro from an amateur. The climbers are especially weedy upstairs.

Read Armstrong's book about his cancer treatment and he explains how the loss of muscle during the chemo enabled him to rebuild himself more as a lean athlete and less of a protein-built Texan redneck.

You may have a point, I don't have a male body (any more <sniff>), but I think it's easier to go from pecs to no pecs than the other way around, which movie stars keep doing

But I will stand down now - my chest has only gone in one direction, and that's from flat to ... not quite so flat. I'll let men give you more informed advice.

Those pictures are both vile and should be behind spoiler tags!

Although less vile than the pro ^^ who just looks ill

Ah! I love Chris Pratt, before and after. But whatever floats your boat!

Sprinters and track cyclists can be muscly up top. I guess this is partly that they're naturally more powerfully built all round and train more for pure strength, but they also need to control the bike while putting that power down. I was briefly up close to Marcel Kittel a few years ago and wouldn't have fancied my chances in an arm wrestle.

I spent a lifetime doing manual work so I've always been a bit muscly in the arms and shoulders, it didn't seem to affect my cycling much though. Now I'm retired I've been loosing the bulk off my arms but not my shoulders, that maybe because I've been trying to learn to swim.

If Pratt did the same regime as Hugh Jackman, I'd advise against it. Bulking and cutting ain't fun.
And no one should do water dehydration. Basically depriving yourself of water for 36 hours to cut away the water between the skin and muscle so defining the body better.
