I'm not bothered about the missing skin: I've hit the deck my fair share over forty years on a push rod. What I was trying to highlight was the lack of civility of the other party.
A decent pace for me is 10-12 mph on my hack bike for getting the shopping, so no-one can accuse me of cycling flagrantly. I was slowing when hit by the hound.
I have four dogs, so bear no malice to responsible dog-havers.
Makes me laugh, all these opinions about how I was bound to be at fault: I'd naively hoped the cycling fraternity would be generally supportive.
Got back in the saddle on the road bike today and put a good few miles down without incident. Thanks to those who expressed concern. I hope those who are whiter than white and slow to a crawl for every effing obstacle don't ever come a cropper: those halos and neatly folded wings are so delicate.
I'm lucky to be fit enough to fight off a scrape, but, as a drystone waller, I rely on unmolested limbs for my living.
