I'm not bothered about the missing skin: I've hit the deck my fair share over forty years on a push rod. What I was trying to highlight was the lack of civility of the other party.

A decent pace for me is 10-12 mph on my hack bike for getting the shopping, so no-one can accuse me of cycling flagrantly. I was slowing when hit by the hound.

I have four dogs, so bear no malice to responsible dog-havers.

Makes me laugh, all these opinions about how I was bound to be at fault: I'd naively hoped the cycling fraternity would be generally supportive.

Got back in the saddle on the road bike today and put a good few miles down without incident. Thanks to those who expressed concern. I hope those who are whiter than white and slow to a crawl for every effing obstacle don't ever come a cropper: those halos and neatly folded wings are so delicate.

I'm lucky to be fit enough to fight off a scrape, but, as a drystone waller, I rely on unmolested limbs for my living.

OP, if we leave aside the blame/fault thing for a moment, it was a bit rubbish that the other rider didn't stop to help mop up the claret.

This is sad isn't it. He just breezed past. Let's hope he doesnt ever need help. He must've seen the denouement and the mutt-under from a long straight behind.

Maybe my Effs frightened him off.

Maybe he was a bit queasy round the red stuff.

Maybe he was an ignorant Knut.

Maybe he doesn't carry a hankie?

The thread that just keeps giving.:popcorn:

You don't need a long thread about it, just write an artificial intelligence subroutine to save everyone's time:

public boolean[] class accidentblame(boolean cyclistinvolved, boolean pedestrianinvolved, boolean driverinvolved){

boolean cyclistblame=false;
boolean pedestrianblame=false;
boolean driverblame=false;

if(driverinvolved){driverblame=true;}
else{
if(cyclistinvolved && pedestrianinvolved){cyclistblame=true;}
}

return {driverblame, cyclistblame, pedestrianblame};
}

Get well soon. I have similar issues on the rare times I use shared paths or bridleways, often I just get off the bike and walk if there are dogs or small children running around. Shared paths are way too narrow to give them a suitable passing distance. Also be aware of any pedestrians which are holding the oblivious moron identification device (aka smartphone), when using one the edge of the visible universe shrinks to one meter around the users body, nothing can be seen outside this distance, and nothing outside this distance can communicate the user.

I was going to express an opinion in this thread but then I remembered I'm supposed to be watching my blood pressure
