its a live vacccine so my wife tells me and its not uncommon to get mild like symptoms, your body then fights it and generates the antibodies?? Ok I`m no doc, and maybe its coincidental, but I can tell you it is flu like symptoms that I have experienced!!

No, it isn't.

The live one is administered up your nose and is not very common.

Absolutely not possible to get flu from a flu jab as no live virus is used. Your body will still develop an immune response which may make you feel a bit rough for a day of 2.....but nowhere near as rough as having influenza.. As already pointed out a small % of people who are inoculated will still go on to contract flu......but theye would have caught it anyway..I am a nurse and regularly innoculate people...and always have the jab myself.

Had my jab last week and no side effects. My wife had hers at the same time and felt a bit poorly for about 8 hours.

I have felt a slight effect some years, and from the Swine Flu one, but rather that than real flu any time.

I haven't had flu since I started having the vaccinations 11 years ago, clearly I can't know if that's coincidence or not.

I had flu once twenty years ago. It very nearly killed me and left me with worse Asthma than I had before. I have the jab every year and apart from a sore arm some years I have had no issues.
My missus has the jab too as she has a lung condition and flu would almost certainly would finish her off. Even a cold has landed her into hospital with pneumonia, twice in the last 9 years and both times were enough for me to fear I'd lose her.
Having/not having the jab is an individual choice but one thing is certain for some of us it's a life saver. As has been said before in this thread you can't catch flu from the jab, it isn't that kind of vaccine. Although I understand some people are allergic the eggs, used as a growth medium for the vaccine, and can be ill after their first jab, but not because of the flu.
