Was on the way to work the other day, in the car, and saw someone riding wearing a fluorescent orange short sleeve jersey. It was so bright you could see it from miles away. Have been trying to find one and searched the internet for a long time and cannot find one anywhere.

Does anyone know where they can be bought?

Have a look for safety clothing (PPE) rather than cycling clothing. It'll be the same stuff but 75% cheaper.

Something like this.

Mr Summerdays has one orange t-shirt and its from Decathlon but I don't think its that bright. He also has a Montane Bionic T-shirt in yellow which also comes in quite a bright orange - review: http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/news/article/mps/uan/4119

I can see one on this page though you have to select the Mango version of the short sleeve to view it yourself. His yellow one was his preferred T-shirt for smelliness control last summer.

Blindman, if you live in the US, you most likely saw one from Performance Cycling. About 5 years ago they were selling super bright flourescent orange jerseys, but have since stopped and only sell yellow ones now. I bought 7 of these jerseys on sale and they seem to last forever. They are bright enough to light up regular reflective road signs as I ride by, in the middle of the day. I hope they start selling them again so I can get some more in an updated fabric. Drivers and my fellow cyclists constantly tell me how bright these jersey's are. Watch ebay, you may see someone selling one. Stay bright, be seen!

I follow threads that have been going on for 5+ years on various discussion boards. Some of the new replies that come in are quite interesting even after that long amount of time.

Possibly, but there's also people who don't look at dates and think the discussions are "live" and at least one of the participants of this thread hasn't been online in over a year.
