We're going to get the 21:57 from Benfleet which gets in at 22:43. If we miss it or have some other disaster (if they don't let the trike on, for example!) I shall text you - I do still have your number.

They'll let it on. Alternative is to ride to Pitsea which is down steps rather than up onto the platform and they're a bit more relaxed about things there.

I have been offered a very rare ticket, of which I have been after for many a year to see the Old Firm Derby this weekend! That's the mighty Glasgow Rangers Vs Celtic for you non-football types! And I just canna pass on it! Sorry!

And yes, the game is on Sunday, but am travelling up about the same time your all be going up Bread n Cheese hill, I think it is, so I will be thinking of you all...!

I wish you all well, am sure this, yet again, will be an awesome trip!

Don't say out loud " Ooooh! Who fancies McDonalds then?" when you are in the pub - it could spell disaster.

A Rangers and Celtic fan get into a nasty car accident. Both vehicles are really wrecked, but amazingly neither of them are hurt.
After they crawl out of their cars, the Celtic fan says, "So you're a Rangers fan, that's interesting. I'm a Celtic fan... Wow! Just look at our cars. There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace the rest of our days."
The Rangers fan replied,"Totally agree - this must be a sign from God!" The Rangers fan went on, "And look at this - here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of whisky didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink it, to celebrate the fact we are alive and kicking?"
He hands the bottle to the Celtic fan who nods his head in agreement, opens it and takes few big swigs from the bottle, then hands it back to the Rangers fan. The Rangers fan takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands back to the Celtic fan. The Celtic fan asks, "Aren't you having any?" The Rangers fan replies, "Nah...I think I'll just wait for the police......"

Its the best derby you could ever go to and well, basically, Arrrsenal Vs Chelski is just like watching a 2 teams of foreigners play too... . Besides, Rangers are like my 3rd team after Norwich and Staines Town!

I always get warned to behave and not talk loud when am up there.. just incase! But with the cheap booze, its bloody hard!

Pretty fresh out there tonight and more of the same tomorrow. 12 C but feeling like 9 C between 1 am and 6 am in Essex. Wrap up warmish. Fortunately we will have a following wind (slight). Those cycling back will feel it as wind set to increase Westerly Saturday morning.

Hmmm, dilemma about clothing time? don't want to be overly dressed but don't want to freeze either, any chance of rain or are we going to be lucky and stay dry albeit a little chilly?

some of you will know that I've succumbed to an elderly gentleman's condition. I'll be at the start, but whether I make it to Souuthend is another matter. User10571 and Adrian will be at the helm, and ChrisKH and Andrij will be on hand to add a bit of local knowledge.

This ride is a bit short on experience, so if you're not TECing then please feel free to make your way to the front and offer to help at junctions.
