There's a station at Whitstable. I'd make sure that you're travelling with three others in order to get a 'groupsave' ticket back to London. Some people ride to Canterbury along the 'Crab and Winkle Way' and get a train from Canterbury to London.

The Southeastern trains website says that there will be signalling works in Faversham on the Saturday morning. I've spoken to Southeastern and they say that the trains may be delayed, but they will run - they're not planning to cancel them and put on a replacement bus service.
