Actually my friend, should you be testing yourself with an unfamiliar beast two days before setting off on 'Le Tour de Mouseketeer'?
Even with your elastic hormones - as befits a young man - you might well be aching like Davywalnut's derriere after a hard night on the curry.
Be careful.

yes i did discuss the possibilty of an injury on the eve of the tour with radius as well... perhaps i should save the bmx effort for the august night ride, yes i think that might be sensible  sensible, that word doesnt usually enter my vocabulary *shudders* heck i may even have to get the... the... train home afterwards, as the tour starts the next day... o the shame.... ;)

thanks for the offer chris, o hope it still stands if you are on the august ride

Well, if you do Bognor, at least it'll be flattish. Though even I on my own 'clown bike' (it is of course a speedy little number, apart from the fact I'm on it...) might be scalping you repeatedly. OK, maybe not.... Might I suggest, should you pursue this potentially amusing (for everyone else) exercise, get some SPDs or similar on it, to minimise your inefficiency (!) and some proper road tyres- anything in 406 size should do (I have a pair of Schwalbe Marathons you could borrow, swapped them over for Marathon Racers for the summer).

How about stoker on the wowbaggermobile? I'd quite like a go of that myself! You'll get no wind in your face as he always wears that wide brimmed hat.

Hmm. Went to that nice Mr. Roberts' cycle workshop today with a borked Pedersen frame. They're everso busy, so it's unlikely it'll be ready in time for the ride.

Ah well.

(Goes off to cook up another cunning plan)

What?
Oh, you mean they haven't got a pretty pattern stamped in the leather. If you want to borrow a pair of sandals, I'm sure ChrisKH or MacB has a spare pair...

i believe the tandem is decked out with shimano spds, so not compatible with my look keo cleats... silly teef

Bit of piping or an old handle bar should do the trick.

ok, sounds doable, but with all this idle talk do we even know if wow is coming? will he be on a tandem? does he need a stoker? and more importantly would he want me as stoker?

Don't worry. Shut your eyes going down hill. I know I do. And if you're lucky, I'll stick my tongue in your ear to make you pedal faster.
