Indeed, most excellent ride (again)- more splendid new acquaintances, plenty of newish ones to meet again, weather pretty much perfect (well, apart from the coating of mist on my arms...), and my mechanicals behaved themselves- not one chain drop. OK, bottles kept bottling out, but......And I got up the Beacon, without a single dab this time (I would have got up last time without it, methinks) Hurrah!
Nice to see more folding/small wheeled brethren (Steve on the Dahon Matrix, the Bromptonian- can't recall the name- and the chap on the Moulton APB). Congrats to all the newbies, chapeau as ever to Mr Legg and his trusty lieutenants (sterling work all, though Adrian deserves a special nod for fetching a tyre!).
Comedy jobsworth award to the cleaner on the Gatwick stairs. It was frankly hard to see where he'd been....
See you ladies and gents next month. 8th is my birthday, and the run's going to my neck of the woods (well, 22 miles from home). Not missing that!!
