hmmm, not had a drop since Whitstable and only once between that and the previous Whitstable. Never thought I'd be saying I'd gotten out of the habit of going for a beer. I'm even able to get maudlin without a drink these days

Thanks all. Will pass on the good wishes and she might pop up on here as she's taking a day off to recover. Spoke to her last night. Some c*** in a minicab right-hooked her on the A23 in Norbury. She went skywards and landed on arse and elbow. Nothing's broken (they build stuff well in Germany), but the bruising's so bad she can't walk, and is on crutches at the moment. Apparently the day spent at the Mayday in Croydon was even worse than the crash. She was one of three cyclists there from road traffic collisions that day - one of the others had her bike nicked while she was being treated in the ambulance. Nice.
