Ouch, just seen this. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to TLA and evil curses in the direction of useless cab drivers and scummy bike thieves.

Dear lovely cycle chatters!
Thank you all for your best wishes and encouraging messages. I'm feeling already better than yesterday and hope to be back on a bike asap. The police informed me that the driver will be taken to court, so I'm hoping to get some compensation from his insurance to get a new bike, or a least get the old one fixed. Simon is very kindly going to pick up my bike from the hospital later on today, so I can assess the damage done. He's also offered one of his bikes for me to use in the meantime, as soon as I'm back in shape. After the horrible event yesterday and the rough treatment I received in Mayday Hospital A&E, it's nice to receive the kind wishes and help from fellow cyclists! Thanks to all of you.

Glad to hear you're on the mend and that the police are taking the collision seriously. I hope you're back on the bike soon and will see you on an Friday Night ride next year.

Dell is a Knight of the Garter for helping out!

Glad to hear that you're on the mend TT - sounded nasty.

And to Simon - the founder and embodiment of the cycling spirit of the FNRttC.

I went to see it this morning. Spookily all the green bits were missing (except on the roof, which is one of the few examples of a roof garden with trees on a timber frame building...)

Sadly someone had decided to call it the Icon. As in Radio Station Southend....
