the BBC has changed its mind again! Warmer, less wind, clear skies to begin with, showers around the midway, clearing by six except at the coast..

Metcheck has a 5mm blob of rain between 3 and 6

Mike E has just called - he's unwell, and Pam, Lucy, Sarah and Clare will arrive at Kings X at a quarter to ten. I think they will then go to St. Pancras to kill some time and have a coffee. Would any of you be available to escort them to HPC from St. Pancras?

The forecast was warmer earlier on, but it's dropped back to around 4°C now (away from Brighton). On my commute last night, it was around the same as now (roughly 7°C), and it was just on the edge of needing gloves rather than mits.

Given that our pace will probably be a little slower than my commute, and with stops, and we'll be at it a bit longer, I think gloves are going to be a good idea this evening. I'll probably also don overshoes over my (summer) shoes, since my toes were a bit cold this morning, and that was with a similar ambient temperature and some sunshine.

A23 (five or so miles of it) - and, I think, yes. It gives us a bail-out point, and it gives us about seven miles to spread out and stagger our arrival at Faygate. The Lambs Green option isn't really on except under clear skies, and the A24/Newdigate/Rusper option doesn't give us the railway station.

I'm leaving home now. Mrs Dr Bollo in her wisdom has decreed that we're driving to my in-laws in Stratford instead of training it. Muggins has to drive. Vanity bike loaded on the back. Plan to be there at about 2315 unless I'm stuck on the M25 or had a nervous breakdown pedalling down the Mile End Road.

Seeya!
