Hellmans mayonnaise. Alternatives just don't match it

I dunno, Hellmans tastes sweet to me. Home made if possible, if not, then the Majonez Kielecki (green lid, yellow label on jar) from the Polish aisle.

As a Marmite aficionado of many decades I have to agree. At some point Unilever seems to have altered the recipe. The Aldi own brand is now head and shoulders above Marmite and tastes more like marmite than marmite if you see what I mean.

Tesco's own brand version for me. And it's actually spreadable.

Brands don't matter as much, but the things I will spend more money on for a better quality product; cheese, chocolate, dried pasta, wine, bread, olive oil.

Heinz tomato ketchup is the only possible ketchup, all other alternatives should be banned. As a kid I actually avoided ever having tea round one mate's house as his Mom bought Daddies ketchup!

Yep. Muchly so.

I tend to buy ingredients rather than ready made, but for the most part, it doesn't mater how cheap something is, or how expensive, I buy what I like. I'm neither a pinchmark nor a food snob, but sometimes quality can be found in the most surprising of places.

We find " Rubies in the Rubble " tomato ketchup the most " tomatoey " though I realise it's all a matter of individual preference and taste. Out of curiosity I opened the Waitrose app as it helpfully lists the ingredients for most of the products that they sell. I noticed that there's more than one Heinz Tomato Ketchup ", the bog standard one has 145g of tomatoes per 100g, the " less sugar and salt " version about 175g and the " Organic " version has 200g of tomatoes per 100g.

Not tried that but I am always up for giving it a go!

Have done so with the organic and low sugar Heinz. Neither are quite the same as the original.
