Joking aside, I'm a firm believer that this sort of stuff is one of the main reasons why England underperform (as a populous nation with football as the number one sport)
The players are under massive media pressure, personally, to perform. They know they will be hammered personally if they don't put in a really good performance. Fear of failure. Negative thinking. Poor performance
Hopefully the manager has managed to dispel this thinking

You remind me of a fair section of Burnley fans who live to see Blackburn Rovers lose,rather than Burnley win. I once asked a 'Dingle' and he admitted that he'd rather see Blackburn relegated than Burnley promoted..now how sad is that?!

Do we know how many Engurland fans will make the journey to Stalingrad? I'm supposing not as many as we've seen travel to world cups in France and Germany,due to the distance and the 'authoritarian' crap they'd have to face. I don't think we'll be seeing Engurland fans pissed up and fighting with the plod in Russia.
