It was as close and tight a game as I was expecting. The lads have overachieved, but it was just one real mistake that cost them. But Croatia put all their experience into that, and we missed chances we should have scored from.

This squad was always about the next two tournaments, so this is a brilliant, brilliant showing.

I did tip Croatia to win the tournament, however.

I thought the referee was very fair.

Nope. he missed several fouls, and gave a couple of free kicks that were not fouls at all. And gave goal kicks that should've been corners. Small things, but it adds up...

The matches since all the latins went home have been good to watch.

On the plus side, we can now all sit back and enjoy the final without having to cower behind the sofa. It's got the makings of a good game. France are probably the favourites, but you really can't discount the Croats. Unless the final will be a game too far for them...
