No, he used his hand. It went down to the ball and I’ve watch about every replay they showed.

Including the millisecond he had seeing it after it went over the French player's head?

I thought it was a bit harsh. Surely if it takes the ref so long to decide he can't be that certain about it.

Funny, I thought the opposite, that it is such an important decision, you better be certain of your decision. I feel sorry refs. now, seems like they are too easy to blame...

Well, the bods in the BBC studio are saying the same as us too, @Dayvo

Don't get me wrong I feel sorry for the refs and handball is one of the greyest areas as we've seen on other occasions in this world cup.
 
I think it was a penalty. He was looking at the ball and he instinctively moved his hand down to it. I've played football and I know how easy that is to do, you don't set out to deliberately handle the ball but in the heat of the moment you can't stop yourself from doing it to avert danger.

Anyway, sport would be a lot poorer without the occasional controversy.
