I don't think you can read too much into the Colombia game. They came out to play anti-football that was designed to disrupt our game and by their own measure it was largely successful.I fear this also
I'm also intrigued by what seems to happen to England after the hour mark. Same against Tunisia, Panama and now Colombia... looking good, creating chances. Then in the last half hour we seem to lose composure.
If we put away the chances a la Panama then no problem. But if we don't then it becomes very difficult
It doesn't look like we play an exhausting, ultra high pressing game but it does look like we start to run out of gas after sixty minutes
Having said that, Sweden rely on pressing the ball so maybe both sides will be like punch drunk boxers come the last few minutes on Saturday
I know Sterling takes some crap and he didn't play particularly well last night, but it was almost impossible to break at speed against team that fouled and cheated to that extent and more or less got away with it. Vardy and Rashford didn't have much success either, although both are better suited to the physical game.
Sweden will be very tough but they'll play a game that will resemble football as understood by most of our players. I predict we'll waste multiple chances and Sweden will sucker punch us for a 1-0 win. Or we'll win 5-0. It's coming home. Or not.
