What about other sports, F1 drivers, Tennis players, Cyclists even? Those at the top of their game in what ever sport earn a huge wedge of dough and rightly so. But it seems footballers are an easy target. Usually from non followers of the beautiful game, either not actually playing or watching.

You are taking the **ss aren't you? Compared to other athletic sports [which all sports should be] they are probably the least fit, take a look at those tv shows where footballers competed against other sports, they invariably came last. As for getting on with it, if you call rolling around for 5 mins after a tackle when a tv replay shows there wasn't any contact.

They don't wear silly arm or knee warmers when the temperature falls below 10c (warm in Yorkshire).

Footballers have committed the ultimate crime. They're working class, often from council estates and they have the cheek to earn a lot of money.

They should know their place and be content with being patronised by the great and good.

Why's that then out of interest?

I guess for one thing it's just a general feeling of weariness when I see youngsters in places like Yarmouth for example latching on to teams 200 miles away because they're successful, rather than their local club(s). It happened before the Prem came on the scene of course but it seems to have got worse in recent years and I'm not sure what it means for the future fan base of smaller

That's an interesting point - I've often thought how *leeding brilliant it is for lads from less advantaged backgrounds to come good; gate crashing the more privileged etc.

You'd have thought that most people would've been happy about that.

(Ahem) Top Cyclists get paid too much!!! I ride a bike too, can I have a multimillion pound contract? I have my own helmet and everything? i can grow a beard if required?

i can easily ride upwards of 10 miles at a time and can bring my own buttys, think of the savings at the feedstations!!!!
