Can your lbs not source a 2016? Or ask what deal they can do on 2017

He said if Merida have stock then he can so that's possible sure, as for deals I think he will do something as I have spent a decent amount of cash in there.

Also I will say to him do me a decent price on the bike and I will buy a shop jersey and be a mobile bill board! lol

There is another store around 15miles away and he has 2016 stock but prices aren't great.

I really don't want to go in my LBS and get measured for a bike to buy online, it seems a tad harsh I know that's probably a little weird, but it's just how I feel.

May be, if it was Halfords I would feel less guilty! but those online deals are tempting! and I can get 0% finance!

I agree, and when I said "get on different sizes/models of bike . . . and try them out" I meant sit on them (as opposed to ride them) and get a feel for what size might suit you best. Halfords is a good place to do that. Or sit on a (similar sized) friend's bike, for the same purpose.

I have old Tiagra, 4600, on my Eastway and the brake cables are neatly under the bar tape, its the gear cables that come out at 90%.

Now that was very odd, Boardman CX and road bike in Halfords size 54 felt odd, only way I could describe it they felt like toys, comfortable to sit on etc but they felt odd.

The Carrera Virtuoso 54 was the same but less so.

I called the LBS told him that I am getting the cash together etc but I would like to sit on the Ride 300 again, but wanted to talk about the 400 and options and what deals he can offer, he was very helpful.

Halfords couldn't be assed to unlock the size 56 for me to try! lol

Popping into the LBS tomorrow for a chat etc I am going to leave my coffee cup there soon! haha

Spent an age in the LBS today and the Merida in a 54 felt right the store spent ages with me making sure things were just right.

They didn't have a 56 in store but the owner had his 56 out back and it did feel to big he was a couple of inches taller than me as well.

I am tempted to see if I can get the 300 in store on finance, but I am currently temping so not sure I will pass.
