I understood all of that. Nice to see people using static ip with home routers/switches.
Most turn them on,make a dhcp connection and forget to set a wep key.
It's actually more complex than that, two routers comprising two SSIDs with WPA2 security and one SSID with WEP128 to cope with a legacy wireless webcam. Several devices with static IP addresses such as printers and the webcam as they seem to hate DHCP, and one laptop with static IP as it runs the much hated Vista, which hates connecting to anything! Actaully it seems that these days it's unusual to find a router that doesn't enable WPA by default and force you set up a key, leastways I can never find an open connection when I want one!
