My Giant Advanced has only done 1400 miles and yet the freehub is not spinning freely - there is some resistance so when you freewheel the chain starts to jump the smaller cogs.

I've broken my chain whip so I can't take it off to inspect the freehub.

I am hoping it just needs a good lube inside ?

On one of my mavics, the freehub became a fixedhub. The cassette kept turning, even when I freewheeled and the chain jumped off the front chain rings.
I removed the freehub and cleaned inside and a little light oil and put it back together again. And all was working again.

If your whip is broken, can you use a screwdriver to lock the largest sprocket against the hub spokes?

And if you manage to take the freehub off, make sure you are working on a large tray or something. Those little spring things in the freehub, spring to life as soon as they see daylight, and then hide in the darkest corner of the garage floor.

Good luck

Actually, just the injection of lube has drasticly improved the freehub already. I'm going to carry on doing this before I start dismantling stuff.
