Old Yannick Noah's (him off of the tennis) still quite popular over there and I liked this song from 2006 or so that always cheers me up

Also Mylene Farmer- great voice, sometimes rather haunting and here's a track you won't hear on Radio 2

Back in the 80's when I lived in Brittany (not France!) for a while this was a favourite from old John Jacques Goldman. And I had the same haircut.

For your ultra typical French pop song with a cracking tune , you can't really get better than Lolita by Alizee (from 2000 or so?)

And best of all a little bit of Franglais

For this and other assorted nonsense, our radio is usually tuned to...

Got one of his albums stashed away somewhere - a present from my sister's French exchange student!

Thanks for that- they sound good, hadn't come across them before. And there's more near misses in that first video than one of Magnatom's clips! that car's a bit close at 6min 16secs!

Glad to help, go for the Moon Safari album first or their new one Love 2, but avoid 10,000Hz Legend - it's a stinker.

I bought a "Negresses Vertes" tape once, played it a few times, kind of liked it... thought "hmm... are they trying to be the french Pogues". I still have it somewhere, possiblym, though it might have gone during a tape-cull I had some years ago... generally, the french should stick to shrugging and running the TdF.
