There were four pubs in the street when we moved here in 1986. Now there are just two gastro-pubs. Fast rewind 28 years, and the local fun-loving youth would get boozed up ( etc ) on Fridays and Saturdays in the the den of iniquity that was The Bird in Hand. Somebody would always stick this one on the jukebox at closing time and the funsters would sing along raucously.
They changed the chorus to " Give me Dope Joanna."
