Loads of options. Well Two-and-a-bit

a) Attempt an intercept in vicinity of Chelsea Bridge; if that fails due to late running trains either chase down the ride (better bring a loaded GPS) at Clapham Common or failing that get train back to Gatwick cycle home and go with option B

b) pick it up at the breakfast spot which is on my doorstep more or less

I love options me.

Could I possibly dip my toe in the water? If Simon rates this as higher than Two, I will probably bale out. I am wracked with remorse for missing the last two rides and need a gentle challenge.

Martin - youi came to Whitstable, didn't you? This isn't as great a challenge if the weather is decent.

Option (a) Arrive early enough to make the start, there never was a problem. Arrive early enough to meet at Chelsea Bridge, sorted. Running late, make a call and someone will wait back to ride with you.

Option (b) Wait up till the middle of the night before setting out to meet the ride, fall asleep on the sofa, wake up at 6:00 with a crick in your neck.

I'll take option a-and -a-bit and thanks for the number. ;)

Martin was last seen buying beer (there I go again ) on the seafront 'chez Madeira' after the ride in which we all medalled. He had arrived from Canada earlier that day and joined the ride. More old lag than jet lag.
Come on Martin! Speak now - or forever hold your piece. ;)

I missed Whitstable, but I enjoyed the last two Brighton runs. If there is space, please count me in.

Um, what sort of average speed are we talking about for this one?

I'll be going at notverymany mph or quite a few more kph as the mood takes me.

Being slow has never been a problem on any FNRttC I've done.

On my Trice Q, my rolling average for these type of rides is around 12.5 mph.
Plus add an hour or so for stops, regrouping, mecanicals, etc, etc.

My fastest night ride was the last ride to the smoke when I hit a rolling average of 12.9 mph.

Luck ..........

The front is more like 13mph +, the back can be as slow as 9 or 10mph especially later in the ride.
