I'm pondering which bike to bring. I have a carbon road bike, or there's my steel Thorn with SKS mudguards and pannier rack. Which wouls you suggest?

Carbon road bike, User482. Mudguards are so Bikeradar!

Do you want me to have a word with the Waterfront about getting a guest beer in? I don't honestly think that there are sufficient of us to make much of a splash in the beer department, but if you want me to beg for something local (and, doubtless, expensive) then I'm prepared to give it a go.

Next it's User482 - he thinks he's coming out for a bit of healthful exercise, and he's asking all kinds of earnest questions about mudguards and the like, and you're going to turn him in to a Lushketeer. Turn back, User482, and devote yourself to audaxing, before you lose your soul!

What a good idea. You'll find it surprising, the things you can get just by asking. I know a man who recently borrowed a car park!
