That can be a problem but, provided one retains the power of lucid speech, should not be insurmountable: last time I found that the place was swarming with local people who knew where the station was!

Ah yes, me too Frank. 'Instruction absorbtion' was, and remains my problem. I have been told where to go many many times...

Sorry, didn't mean to dis the Waterfront - just saying that if it were about the beer, there would be other options. But obviously it's not about the beer. The Waterfront is just fine and deserves the support.

The Neptune is horrible, btw. It's only attraction is the location. They know the location draws the crowds and so make no effort. Except for 80s pop stars perhaps.

oof, my attendance is slightly in balance after a bit of an off this morning, mate went into a car, then I went into him, over the bars and stomach/chin planted. Right knee is tender, right elbow is covered in road rash but more worrying is that neither wheel will do a full 360 rotation and the rear gear cable looks a little shredded.

Any recommendations for a bike shop near Crystal Palace who'll be able to turn it around in time, oh and sell me a new helmet as the one I was wearing seems to have a whopping great crack down one side - no idea what I smacked that on tbh.

Most upsetting are the two hyowge holes in the front of my rapha merino long sleeve

There's SE20 Cycles in Penge on Maple Road near the market. Win will give you an honest opinion of whether he can get it sorted in time. Tel. 020 8778 2023.

Give Rapha a call.
They repair stuff if it is repairable.
Sometimes FOC.
EDIT - or will sometimes do a very good deal on a replacement garment.

not a lot to see weirdly, elbow is a bit raw but that's about it. Weird thing with the helmet is that it looks untouched on the outside, on the inside there's a whopping great crack in it that pretty much goes halfway over - I suppose that's it doing its job....

I agree - SE20 cycles first stop. Win is a lovely bloke and can do stuff fast (if pushed) and I sometimes have to tell him off for undercharging!

If it needs specialist care beyond Win - then you could go to Compton Cycles (just before Catford). Chris can be a bit gruff, they are not the speediest or the cheapest but they know their stuff. Good for difficult jobs.
