FNRttC Friday Night Ride to the Coast - 25th June to Felpham, near Bognor Regis 2010

I don't have a cable lock. I suppose I could try and use that kryptonite easy mount of whatever it is but I thought they weren't supposed to be very good. It's the weight as much as anything over 2kg that D lock is.

Saw it in half.

Actually I've remember I lost that metal bit so I don't think I can mount it to the bike, oh well . It's the weight as much as anything.

Can I team up with someone to be my lock buddy so I don't have to carry that rucksack around? Aperitif, gregcollins, topcat, clivedb? Anyone. So unless you want to be looking at a lopsided rucksack all evening you know what to do!

Sorry, Paul - I can't help with this as my lock already has a Fratello buddy. In any case I'm not sure that you would want my lock if you are carrying a D-Lock around. I've now got one of those very lightweight compact retractable cable locks. My theory is that on the night ride we are unlikely to encounter serious cycle thieves and this will be sufficient to deter the casual opportunist.

I may have seriously misjudged this and if two Fratellos disappear and you see Marilyn and me walking, you'll know what's happened.

Looks like this could be by far the warmest ride this year!

I'm a retractable cable lock type these days (well on FNRttC's anyway) Welcome to share at the Cabin but I won't be joining you (all) at Felpham; where I suspect the need will be greater.

Marin - you're welcome to share my lock - bearing in mind that your bike is a lot fancier than mine and my lock is nowhere near as heavy-duty as yours. But I'm not convinced that rucksack will survive another ride...

In the long term I may get something like an kryptonite evolution mini which I can then put in a saddle bag or one the frame or something.
