Just above freezing? It's positively balmy and Spring-like down here at the moment - I was expecting the more robust amongst us to be doing it in shorts. When I head east tomorrow will it be like walking into The Day After Tomorrow?

Helmets are a personal choice item.

Working Brakes, decent lights, tyres that aren't worn out etc. on the other hand

+1. Run through Simon's list of basics and you should be covered.

I have invested in a small backpack so will be able to carry the cake myself.
Although if i find it too irritating we may have to eat the cake sooner rather than later

What a shame. But I think I'm over it now...

Some may do it in shorts, but not I. I can also state without reservation that my SPD sandals are still packed away and will not be seen any time soon. I'm hoping for April...

I've signed up to my first FNRttC thanks to reading past FNRttC threads - clearly I've got far too much free time on my hands! My train should get into Marylebone at around 10:30 - what's the best/simplest (so I don't get lost!) route to get to HPC from there?

Andy, whilst I remember - do you want me to bring a gorilla pod for this one for your camera? I'm a yes. Unless something drastic happens in the meantime I should be there-if I have time-might even make some banana bread.

Hey McWobble -welcome to your first FNRttC! Unfortunately I'm not coming that direction otherwise I'd lead you to HPC- there's a couple coming from St Pancras- maybe you could message them and meet partway unless there were others coming from the West and could pick you up?
