Here for rides.
We are stacking up so much bad karma. You know it is going to be one of the regulars who has a huge mechanical now, don't you?

Even on the last Brighton run, Simon was encouraging people to leave the top of Ditchling before the tail end had caught up, so as to spread out the people arriving at the Madeira Cafe for breakfast.

If you are in a rush, and want breakfast. but don't want to have to wait, don''t stop at the greenhouses, just keep on going. The way in from that point is pretty straightforward, and the wait at the greenhouses and the top of Ditchling slows the ride down a lot (not to mention the cycle up Ditchling itself!)

+1. I paused at the greenhouses for a carb load, but not at the top of Ditchling. I was only there for a couple of minutes- had a drink, got my breath back (plus the caffeine gel I had at the greenhouses was kicking in), Simon dropped a hint about me knowing the way, and I carried on. I didn't exactly notice the lovely view from the Beacon this time, but it was nice to avoid the queues at the Madeira.

I'll draft you this time

Cycling ettiquette will prevail as Ian and Stuart provide gentle windbreaks for the dignified, jubilant procession into Brighton, where relatives of the Martleteers will be congregating for the approaching cavalcade of proud achievers.
Breakfasts will go unfried as folk bask in the sun, while reflecting on their voyages of discovery.
With a bit of luck there will be an all-stations peloton back to London, perhaps stopping at the Friday Night Stores at Rusper...

Both myself and Arallsopp (and probs ILB) are planning to but dependent on timings Lee, as I can imagine with the Martlets peleton the pace will not be a brisk one.

Indeed. Still, less time to wait before the bar opens ;).

I am concerned at all this talk of "flying" up Ditchling and then "zooming" into Brighton, all so you can be first for breakfast. We should be there as experienced Friday Nighters to help every last one of the Martlets riders up that "baddy" of a hill...

Then we can see them off down the hill and beat them to the queue for breakfast.....

And for Teef's 10,000th post he reverts to quite a moving speech and not a single pun in sight....

Could this be the start of things to come.....

Been a bit thick, I have just realized that this might not have been his 10,000th as it was a couple of hours ago but the sentiment remains all the same....
