Do you really want to climb Ditchling on that.....? My Cadenza isn't that heavy, but I'd still rather use the Jetstream (a kilo lighter plus wider gearing). Let alone the Viner (waaaaah!).

I find that riding heavy bike makes you stronger. I use my 15kg commuter bike every day (hub gears, disc brake, brooks saddle, mudguards, marathon plus tyres..) and when I get on my "quick" bike which is still not very lightweight at 11kg, I'm flyyyyyyying!
I'll be on my slow bike this Friday as there is no need to be fast.

If the current guess on Metcheck is anything like correct we are going to be OK on that score; 4c, minimal headwind, maybe a drop or two of rain in the middle part but not actually raining.

That's buggered it then....expect torrential rain now

I certainly wouldn't argue with that. Except for the need to be fast of course
I love all my bikes, but I'd still rather be doing 14-15 mph average over a long run than 12 for the same effort.

I was one of the first at both cafes, so no race and no queues :becool:

We'll get you doing some way marking then, probably at the last corner before the food stop, everyone needs to experience a breakfast queue at least once :bicycle:

+1. You don't really appreciate being first in the queue until you've been there when there's a load of people in front of you.

Very quiet on here this afternoon / evening.

Yours worried,

Ey oop lad!
It's not quiet mikee - we're here!
(It's only the conservative cyclists who are a bit meek. You know - the ones that are worried about 'beating' everyone else to get a cup of tea, the ones that can't keep their bikes in one piece longer than one ride, the ones that hang around Kings X at night...)
Tomorrow I'll decide. Whether we have a 21:58 at KX rendezvous or I go to HPC direct, and offer fragrant last-minute advice to the assembled hoardes...

Reassured and content but still quite concerned over the Mike Cavendish styleee sprint for the bacon and eggs.

By the way I still have some items left to sell off that I could bring along with me on Friday night, my link takes you to the page but it take a while to load up. Don't forget all monies raised are for charity, Martlets and Haiti.
