East Coast website lets you reserve cycle spaces online, regardless of train operator.
So do Chiltern and Southern, using the same system.

Hi Dave

Have a look on the FNRttC website - here It should cover all the basics (and Simon's pathological hatred of mudguards

Hello! Go to the blog here, it'll tell you all you need to know.
Short version: You will need to email Simon with confirmation that you've read the basics (on the blog), your CTC number if you have one, and your mobile number. You will need to join our club, the Fridays (£1), and if you're not in the CTC you'll need to affiliate to it (£12) for insurance purposes (under the group third party policy, there's a maximum of five non-members per ride, I don't know if that's been reached for this one- and everyone must have third-party insurance via CTC, British Cycling or the London Cycling Campaign, even if you've got a policy of your own).

I wondered about dismantling it and sending it Poste Restant to Cardiff.

Southern let me book the return journey so I'll just have to MTFU and cycle to Cardiff.

This I have to see

What if you gave them a minimum volume guarantee?
They mustn't realise quite how much revenue they are turning away...

They are raking it in anyway. Massive capacity, coffee-and-ice-cream sundae, fast turnover family stuff is their thing. It's a fiver for a cheese sarnie. They might imagine that a bunch of pissheads will put off their target punters. They might even be right!
