just called First Great Western to get cycle reservation for the train I've booked......eek there are no more cycle reservations available for that service.... must be that Pompey lot getting on first.

Rats! no bike spaces on the Abergavenny to Cardiff, although Arriva did helpfully inform me there was space available for the return jouney - I can't go with a bike but I can come back with one!

There have been allegations of theft on some of these rides - looks like there could be a new suspect!

It would be wrong to name names frank, but teef said you'd nick the skin off a baby seal's back given half a chance.

Was he present at the time of the one case where we know for a certainty that a theft occurred?

Hard to know: thieves can be very sneaky.

The racks on the train will take pretty fat tyres. I think my tandem had 37s on and they fitted nicely.

My organisational skills may not be on a par with Dell's .... but Hummers' non-availability for the Bimble has already been confirmed.

He did say his brother might be interested though....

The thought had crossed my mind .... but the cost in pies and sandwiches to fuel that sort of ride would far exceed the cost of the train ticket that I have already paid for and wouldn't be using....

The alternative (shock-horror) would be to come by car. I can take 3 passengers and the 4 bikes without being too much of a squash. Sharing the diesel cost between 4 people wouldn't be much more than cheap train fare each.
