Another very enjoyable FNRttC ride, thank you tc and dell.
Trained it down from Abergavenny. Met Doc Squizzer on the train, he isn't a doctor and doesn't look very much like a squirrel either, mcshroom was in the next carriage and so we all rode down to the bay together.
It was a really nice evening for riding, clear sky, stars. moon, etc., although the temp seemed to alternate from OK to cold and back again very quickly, as rich said above there were plenty of chav comments in Cardiff, more than I'd noticed coming out of London, they were all directed at rich of course.
The half-way stop was good, cheese or ham sarnies and cake with tea or coffee, had to wait quite a while for the drinks though and I was gagging down my last bit of sarnie before my tea arrived. Rich's hilarious quips to the guy handing out the tea were met with the same response as he gets when he posts in P&L. The deafening sound of silence
The ride was really enjoyable, met lots of lovely people I'd met before and lots of lovely new people too. Great turn out by folk from the area as well.
I thought the last ten miles were meant to be on a cycle path but it was definitely a dual-carriageway. Nice breakkie in Mumbles but then I had to dash off to bail out the family who I thought had gone on to a refurbished cottage in the Beacons but it turned out to be a building site in the Beacons. I'd have preferred to hang around in Swansea drinking beer and the like but duty called!
Got back and had a nice lunch, a walk in this dreadful urban wasteland (see below) followed by a couple of hours kip and then sought spiritual guidance from the Rev James in the evening and soon felt mighty righteous again, oh yes!
