Groupsave will probably cut the cost more than a travelcard if you have four people - but I will mention it in my final e-mail - thanks peeps.

I'm going for the Sutton route rather than the Dorking route. There's a 24 hour Tesco on the way in to Sutton which we can use for a splash and dash. If people are concerned about the night life in Sutton we can take the one way system - although we've had stuff thrown at us in Epsom as well. Going via Sutton shortens the route by a mile or so.

I am keen to revisit Sutton Town Centre. The nightlife needs comparison with my recent memories of Deansgate, Bury, Blackpool and environs. Might excuse a comparison with Preston from that though.

Remember; sunny, warm weather = perhaps more bottles, cans, piles of sick and wobbly people... and that's just Saturday morning!

I've spoken to Mark at the Cabin and we're going for ham sandwiches and cheese sandwiches rather than the fried stuff. This should speed things up a bit. It is going to be a bit cramped, though.

Fair enough, should be balmy enough to go outdoors anyway.

Andy - thankyou - I've been working my way back through the e-mails (there's been upwards of 100 this week) There may be a couple more cancellations I've yet to find.

Sadly I'm going to have to bail on this one. A mixture of daughter's wedding arrangements and some over-vigorous activity on the tennis court mean I'm going to delay the fnr comeback until Brighton in May.

I've decided I will be definitely be coming along on this. Due to the expected tiredness can someone prod me at appropriate times to stay awake/wake up, I forsee such times being 3am, 6am, after breakfast, Clapham Junction etc .

Pebble Hill, huh? I wrote off my pride and joy (fully restored classic convertible - car, that is) coming down that hill one dark night 8 years ago.

So what's different this time? Pitch dark - check. Same speed? 40mphish?! - um, okay, check.

But, oh wait, this time it's............ head first!! with rim brakes?????!!!

That screaming noise will be me.

Bring some blusher Paul - last week you looked like this on the last bit. (Or get some sleep maybe?)

I did try to get some sleep before the ride last week, it just didn't work out out of excitement for the ride . There was never a chance of getting Good Friday off work, but it'll work out. I did even think of arriving in London and getting 1-2hrs sleep at Sittingduck's house or someone like that but he's not going. Perhaps I should camp out under the Arch.

I think the problem with these rides is I get tired just as it hits the long drawn out flat bits where everybody races off into the distance .

Mike e said I'd get used to them - I have, I now know which half an hour stints I'll fall asleep on and when I'll speed up!
