what sort of pace are these riden at?
 
It's at the pace of the slowest rider.

On these type of rides I also average ~12 mph on my recumbent trike.
Also unless you get stuck at the back, you can grab a short break while waiting for the ride to come back together.

i think i should be able to make this ride. i'll take some painkillers with me, in case my elbow gets very sore. put me down on the list Simon, please.

I'm going to have to back out of this one now. :sad:

I'll be part of the way to San Francisco, delivering a flight instrument to Berkeley, for integration onto the CINEMA spacecraft, for a launch next year.

It's a mite annoying having to miss the last ride of the year, but I'll probably still be up when you're a fair part of your way to Southend. I'll only be arriving in the USA shortly before you leave HPC, so by the time I've left the airport, got to Berkeley, checked into the hotel, had supper etc, you'll probably be at the midway stop. FNRttCs are good practice for jet lag!
