I was thinking more of a cocktail shaker given the gentility of the ride and the forecast - don't know where the ice will come from, though.

There may be THREE different types of Connemara available for tasting...

I'm undertaking some last minute cat fettling. Zev, who was getting better, has been rubbing her forehead excessively and has managed to make a bald scabby area. I'm taking her into the vets after lunch, and I'm fairly confident this will just mean something like the cone of shame for her. It shouldn't effect my attendance.

It's good to hear that The Charlotte and The Julian will be attending this evening.

Anyone heading to the start from points East interested in a genteel ride to HPC? On my own I find it all to easy to go into 'Tour de Commute' mode and I'd prefer to take things easy tonight.

well, the insect bites ('I've been to John O'Groats five times and not seen a single midge') have brought on some kind of reaction and my knees feel like they've got sand and glue in them. So it's a good job it's a short ride.....

The normal post ride spot for Southend is Look-Mum-No-Hands, but they don't serve beer earlier on (before 1200 at a guess). Until that point, we have to survive on cake and coffee.

I'm not stupid enough to do two night rides in a sequence, and I need to get home at some point for a visitor.
