I'm glad to hear it. And there are few things quite as satisfying as terrifying everyone in the vicinity with an unannounced flambé .

The vision of having a sneaky flambe for lunch at my desk in my open plan office is one that is going to play on my mind for a while!

My first ever long-distance ride was the 2009 genteel and I am now hooked. I was terrified that I'd be turned away for being a novice and that bike snobs would abound, little did I know that FNRttCers are hugely lovely and welcome newbies into the fold. I can't wait for my wrist to heal so I can come on another one soon. The only question is how Cathy and I can up the ridiculousness after recent follies....

That's re-assuring. This is my first go at FNRttC and I'm a bit nervous about it. I seem to have got in with a worrying bunch on the Sunday rides (the Mouseketeers)......
