Dang, there's not much that would stop me FNRttC'ing but I've just been made an offer I can't refuse for 30/4 & 1/5 so I must, regretfully, withdraw.

Indeed. But the lure of fine wine and fine dining and a fine bed for the night at someone else's expense as a 'mystery shopper' - say no more - is too much for me to resist.

Ben - my disappointment knows no bounds. Repeat after me:

"Sorry, I can't do that date - it's the FNRttC". There, you see - easy!*

*You'll note that I'm assuming you're merely jet-setting off somewhere for a bit of high-class snappery. If in fact you're cancelling in order to visit sick relatives or something, then of course I'll eat my words. In fact - have a contrite and embarrassed smiley in advance:

I tried to repeat that but had trouble with the pronunciation.

I have filed it away for a time when you really should offer one but won't.

Ha! Effenarteeteeceee? You know you're in trouble when your predictive text recognises FNRttC...

I'm afraid smilies are strictly non-transferable.

Sounds more plausible than the fnurtuhtuhck that I tried.

I regret to advise that once a smiley has been officially received and filed, it is no longer the property of the sender and may be stored and deployed as the recipient sees fit.

I quite agree, but then the deployer becomes the author of its meaning, in a provisional and strictly-in-the-textual instance kinda way. I should warn you that it's a mistake to take me on on the subject of intertextuality.*

*this particular winking smiley was once deployed inappropriately by LinfordLunchBox, and induced a wave of nausea in Dellzeqq - I would be very careful what you do with it, if I were you.

Looks like I'll be at the front again from the City through Ilford.

Davy, if you stick with me at the front for a bit you may be lucky and find me pointing out a 24-7 'burger barn' just the other side of Whitechapel. You might just have enough time to grab a kebab or burger before the TECs roll by.
