Boo... can't make this I'm afraid.

Here for rides.
On the assumption I can work my way back into the Lovely Helen's good books by then (fell asleep during the jazz gig we went to on Saturday night and am now the naughty step) please pencil me in.

Happy to TEC, waymark, whatever.

That good eh? I, on the other hand, went to the cinema to see Tinker, T,S,S and did not fall asleep which must count as some accolade to the film.
I'm astonished. When I watched it half the audience had to be brought round with smelling salts. I survived by the skin of my teeth and half a bottle of pinot grigio

Nige you must be made of money. What's wrong with the current one? It got you 4,000 miles round Britain and up the Beacon........

I'm upgrading the trikes specs.

New upgraded specs are ..........
The frame is slightly narrower, it will go through gaps easier.
Full suspension all-round to soften the road buzz out.
Hub gears front and back to open up the gear range, from 12.5"-100" to 10"-130".
Son hub to power front lights.
Twin hydralic disks on the front, both worked of one lever.
Tail box.

Luck ...........

They were better than ok, when they played. I just wished the band leader hadn't bothered with the all but inaudible banter and jazz history lessons between tunes. One of my close friends, an ex-band mate, was on electric piano so nodding off was inexcusable....

... but I just shut my eyes to groove for a bit during Blue Monk and was away with the fairies in seconds flat. I didn't snore, I didn't dribble and the alto sax solo woke me up so I don't know what the problem was!

(other than the catch-all "I was so embarrassed")

It was at one point just the fear of cliche that kept me going.

Me please Sir!

(I'm getting lots of "back to school" feelings after the calling out of attendance at the start of last Fridays ride!)

I do like the Whitstable ride. It always seems quite flat, even though it does have a smattering of quite steep bits in it. I think they're near the middle, so you tend to forget that they are there! It can be quite a fast ride sometimes though, which is good for a quick "burn".

Oh flibbidydibbidydob. I've just accepted an invitation to a wedding the following afternoon which will also involve my parents descending upon us earlier in the day, so I am out. Very sorry to be missing what ought to be a great ride - although I had very mixed feelings about my first Whitstable FNRttC (a bit too much interaction with locals) the ones since then have been fab.

DZ, please release me...

Surely to goodness they can rearrange the wedding? Didn't they think to check the calendar to keep it away from FNRs? Honestly, some people don't even do the basics of wedding planning.

On two runs to Brighton we've had a punch-up and a car smash* so I look forward to seeing what you mean by that phrase.....

*Not to mention the young gentleman of Tooting who started to take his trousers down while shouting: "Hey white boyz I bet you ain't seen nothin this big...." and then saw a recumbent go by and shouted: "F!ckin' 'ell that bloke is lying down." Hilarious but not exactly family viewing. Good job it was after the watershed.
