For a man who mentions 'Drax' without batting an eyelid, how could Whitstable be described as brutal? (Apart from trying to buy multiple groupsavers with Monsieur Jobsworthio at the ticket office?)
Did you know that if you get large enough parties you can get shown round Drax? I'm not sure that even Dellzeqq could talk them into a 4am tour with 100 cyclists - they might get the wrong idea. We lost our
cooling towers a while back. Did you not know that all these power stations block out the sun, so we have such a light complexion?
Whitstable just seems to go on for a very long time. Flat rides don't suit me all that much, I tend to ride at whatever pace I feel is right at the time and people get very strung out on that ride and disappear into the distance. This is fine on your own, but not so good in a group where you're riding to time. There's still something about Whitstable I'm not sure what, even considering the peleton effect in Bognor, that seems to make me very tired. Rich P and Sittingduck found it hilarious with their little photos and captions.
I'd rate Manchester the easiest, then Bognor (homage to roadside trees ride) and Cleethorpes about the same, then Brighton and Whitstable the hardest.
