It's a bit more complicated than that...
Assuming SouthWest Trains do their stuff and don't notice the tandem we're smuggling on board*, we'll be getting in to Waterloo Station at 2255 or 2307. So if you spot a tandem on its way to Whitstable say hello. Waterloo has more than one pasty shop and a caffe nero that does an acceptable double macchiato.

*Not as unlikely as it sounds - we're using the slow line from Guildford, where the trains have loads of space and the nearest station has no staff on duty that late. And we can cut the beast in half if necessary.

Slow via Cobham or via Epsom?

I may have to make an executive decision* to cycle back tomorrow. I seem to have overdone the birthday bender again.

* This decision has not necessarily been left in my hands or at least the consequences are such that making the wrong decision would not be good

The word "moderation", does it have any meaning in your life?
It may have from now on. Oh hang on a minute, that's mediation.

I am getting better, I only do these once or twice a year now rather than once or twice a month.

I think the word that you're probably looking for, is medication. ^_^

Given that the last few nights I've been cycling home, close to midnight, in a short sleeved jersey, and still been rather hot and sweaty on arrival, I may start with that on this evening. Possibly with a long sleeved jersey in the bag, to pull over the top in the early hours, after leaving 3amses, when it can be a mite brisk for a short while.

I still need to make a decision on shorts vs 3/4 lengths ... hmm ...

In contravention of my normal day off from cycling prior to a FNRttC, I've had to cycle into work today, using Vince the unfeasibly heavy Decathlon single speed bike. On the plus side, when I get on Red later on, it'll feel like I'm cycling on a mere wisp of smoke, which come to think of it, is pretty much what it's made of.

Shorts and knee warmers., simples.
It would be simples, if I knew were my knee warmers were. I'll only have an hour or two at home between cycling from work, and having to leave for Waterloo, and I'd rather not spend it digging them out, when I could have a short rest, and eat some supper (as well as having to dive into Sainburys to buy said supper).

Hipflask's are the best things for keeping warm...

Am sure this will suffice for tonight's ride...
