Hi guys
Long winded story/question.
I have recently bought a 2010 Carrera Vulcan xc.
It need a bit of work new shifters pads etc.
I have got a problem though that I am banging my head on the wall over.
I got every thing set up indexed the gears & set up the front derailleur with everything working spot on with it on the stand.
I came to ride it all gears working correctly but front derailleur would not switch from second cog to either first or third cogs.
Put the bike on the stand & again everything working fine.
Tried retensioning the cable & relubing everything.
End up no joy so took it to Hafords they adjusted the front derailleur of I trot everything worse than ever.
Returned to Halfords some one else checked it & said the previous bloke had ballsed it up so he reset it.
Also told me my chain was shot and the shifting etc would be smoother with a new chain
Everything worked fine for a couple of days.
So I fitted a new chain same length & amount of links as the one I removed.
Now the chain is jumping in 8th (going to try indexing it again)
The kicker is though now the chain wont change cogs on the front derailleur again whilst riding but not on the stand.
So has any one got any suggestions as to how to resolve the problem.
I have looked at countless videos online but no joy.
Sorry its long winded but thought it best to state all of the facts.
