My "big one" was some guy talking on a mobile ran me over from behind going 50 mph + I went over the top Of his car ended up behind his car out cold . Concussion watch
You were lucky to survive that!!

That is the kind of thing that is often on my mind when I am out on my bike. I worry about some distracted idiot accidentally hitting me. I also worry about a psycho doing it deliberately!

Would be interesting to see what surgery he had. Metalwork would finish his career. I had a similar injury, four ribs but two vertebrae snapped. Opted for a long hospital stay and longer recovery rather than risky surgery.

To be fair, Frommedawg's 'career' finished some years ago but he's a likeable chap and has his finger in quite a few pies already.
I suspect he'll be pretty busy after he actually calls 'time' on his racing days.

Doing what. The school run and the cleaning?
He's probably a few turns behind Michelle on that.

Chris didn't exactly drench himself in the culture of cycling or commit himself to any one particular country. I'm hoping he's not going to mentor a new generation of stem starers either.

I maintain he will be an absolute superstar employee of a ferocious venture capital firm. We won't hear much from him until he dies and leaves several hundred million to charity

Good for him that he's had all these opportunities.
Bad for those that have presented them to him as they've had absolutely no cut through with this fan of the sport of professional bike racing.

Shall we start a campaign for lifetime achievement award at BBC Sports Personality this year? A maybe a knighthood while they're at it.

Maybe wait until the day they get to the bottom of whatever was going on at Team Sky?

He's been promoting bikes, watches, charities and anything and everything for a good few years.

I saw him in a terrible advert where he was buying inner tubes from a bloke at the top of a mountain and paying with some kind of contactless thing or other.

I saw the headline that he'd hit a road sign at 30 mph. Clipping a kerb first gives it a bit or context but serous wtf. Very unlucky to have one really bd training smash but 2 looks very careless.

Wishing him a full recovery and a less incident prone retirement.
