I understand the reasons for it and agree with most, but I think he was wrong. I just don't think hitting someone is helpful, it's spectators who make the TDF the spectacle it is.

I don't like it when people use violence to address their problems but as Chris Boardman said yesterday, if you're close enough to get punched by someone riding a bike, you're too close.

The adrenalin / booze fuelled spectators should be more respectful of the riders they've travelled to witness.

Totally in the right. Spectators do make Le Tour but they also pose massive danger as has been shown over the years. Keep in mind that Froome has also been covered in urine, so some spectators do set out to do these things.

It isn't just him though, if he went over he could take out the rest of them near and behind, the speed they go and they are so close it could be absolute carnage.
