FSA Headsets .

How bleedin complicated is it to find the right headset bearings. It’s a FSA orbit C40 headset. Got the bearings out but there are several different versions and I’ve no idea which ones it should be ? The bearings appear to be all the same size ??? For info it’s for a Raleigh Militis 3 carbon frame .

Asking the bleedin obvious but are the bearing sizes still legible on the sides?

If you cannot find the numbers I think you need a FSA Orbit C40 No 42 1 1/2 to 1 1/8. The different versions I think are just the top cap height, which you can either use your existing one or measure it, then you choose carbon or aluminium. Nope !! I’m thinking it’s 073E-RS however and it’s the same bearing on the different combinations. Got the verniers out and it appears to be the same?!

What does ACB stand for ? I think that’s what it is !? The bearing does seem to measure up as that . So might take a punt.

ACB is angular contact bearing. I am pretty sure that your bike has a tapered headset 1 1/5” to 1 1/8”. Can you confirm?

It does , I’ve ordered the headset linked to up thread. It seems to be the right specs when I measure.

Thanks to CRC, paid extra for next day delivery and all fitted now along with new bar tape. N+1 rides again ! Which is just as well as my other bike is now off the road !

Yes I’m well over due a C2W bike ! However don’t get much for £1k, well what I’m after anyway !
